The Right Tool For The....Goal?

After setting my goals for 2016, I began reading about and understanding how certain tools can help you work towards and stay on track towards achieving your goals. I have also found that there are more tools available on the web than one needs so the trick is finding the one(s) that work best for you. I have tried some that did not work and set them aside and have found others that are a good fit for me. Here are some of the examples of what I am using to support achieving some of my 2016 goals:
Goal: Run 100 miles Tools: Map My Run and ilovetorun.org
Goal: Lose 20 pounds Tools: My Fitness Pal
Goal: Share my learnings Tools: Blogger, Facebook, Twitter (@CTEKR)
Goal: Increase savings/reduce debt Tools: Dave Ramsey
Goal: Increase productivity Tools: 1 Page Productivity Planner
As you can see, I have tried to identify tools that will help me to stay on track, guide me and help monitor progress as I work to achieve the goals I have outlined. What I have listed are not all the goals but a few examples. I have found that the tools help remind me when I have lost focus or also can serve as a pat on the back for continued motivation.
Goals and tools are 2/3 of what I am working on as part of my personal growth. In my next post, I will discuss implementing routines and habits to support achieving my goals. I have found that setting the goals and identifying the tools has been the easy part. When I have been able to add a consistent routine or change some habits, I have been more successful in making progress.
As always, take care and wishing you all the best!
