Life In The Car
The first few days of our trip will provide a lot of time for us to bond together in the car! Day 3 will see us in the car traveling for up to 12 hours. So what does a family of four do in the car for that much time?
The kids also are taking advantage of their new kindles. Movies, stories and games are all at their finger tips. Always nice when you need a little quiet time from the back seat.
Tracey downloads audio books on her iPhone so when we need a break from the radio, time to put on a story. Today we listened to a Nancy Drew story that had us all on the edge our seats. The dramatic music and cliff hangers at the end of chapters had us wanting more.
And that is how we spend our long days in the car. After traveling those long hours, everyone is ready to settle in for a good night's sleep......
Tracey always does a great job of putting together activities for the kids to do. This year the books include math, writing and science activities that are all related to life on the road. They also have markers that they can use on the windows to play pictionary or write messages for the cars that are passing by.

"Window check out Daddy's window"! During last year's trip we instituted a practice called a Window Check. Anytime there is something that you just have to see outside, a person yells "Window Check!" and the window to look out. So, if you have your head in a book, kindle, activity book or maybe catching a few zzz's you will not miss out on any of the amazing scenery!

Except for Kellen who apparently has a little energy he needs to burn off!
